Populism

I'm revisiting the concept of populism in the 21st century. I find that the ultimatum game is particularly helpful in understanding the reality of populism today: feeling that "establishment" parties have failed to deliver on their promises, public opinions seem increasingly convinced that they have nothing to lose anymore and are far more open to non-mainstream, extremist and populist options that they seemed to fear so much in the past. How this process works and how we can deal with the phenomenon are two key questions I'm interested in tackling.

This is a topic I've written about in Politico and discussed at length with Poets&Quants' Marc Ethier (especially in terms of how populism today relates to the tech giant issue). How one leads in this world is also a topic I've tackled here. My book, Architects of Change, offers some possible responses. And I have more in the works, coming soon.
